Anxiety & Stress

We all feel anxious occasionally but for many what may start as a slight feeling of stress or anxiety can often lead into deep and plunging depression. Often the root causes of these issues can be traced to an early age.

Up to the age of about seven years old our brain is like a sponge absorbing without question everything we are told. We cannot reason like and adult when we are very young so our subconscious mind just absorbs the information from the environment around us. At that age we unequivocally believe that everything we are told is the absolute truth. The understanding we gain up to that time in our lives can make or break us. It completely defines the way we think as adults whether this is positive or negative.

Positive & Negative

If parents, teachers, relations, friends tell us positive encouraging things such as we are clever, pretty, handsome, safe, happy, these will automatically become positive beliefs that we hold in the very core of our being.
These positive beliefs then help us to create an optimistic and happy life for ourselves.Equally if the same people tell us we are useless, unworthy, stupid, fat, ugly, these types of suggestions will also be completely absorbed into our belief system creating deep negative and conflicting emotions within us.


The things that happen to us at a very young age can still affect us very deeply when we are adults. For example, being left to cry for long periods of time as a baby can cause deep feelings of uncertainty and separation. Not to mention abuse and bullying, whether verbal or physical. Our subconscious mind never forgets anything. What many people do not know is that with the use of hypnosis a person is able to access any episode in their life. This can even be as early as when they were in the womb or when they were a very young baby or child.


When regressed the person is easily able to find the cause of deep trauma or anxiety even though their everyday conscious mind has no awareness or memory of the incident. Once this experience is understood it can be released and the cause of the anxiety can be let go of.
We hold on to so many negative emotions that what may appear to be a small incident at school or at home can trigger a deep state of anxiety later on in life. This is because we frequently hold on to resentment and anger towards others and ourselves which if unresolved can turn into anxiety or even physical pain.


When clients come to me suffering with one or more of the issues above I find that Hypnotherapy is usually the most effective way to get to the root cause of the underlying problems. I would normally use a combination of ThetaHealing™, E.F.T (Emotional Freedom Technique) and sometimes other therapies like Spirit Release Therapy or Inner child work. Combining these treatments the client is then able to slowly release the damaging emotions that are causing all of the negative feelings. Forgiveness of self and others always plays a big part in this type of therapy. The letting go of blame and guilt will enable the person to recognise and release the destructive emotional patterns they have been holding on to.
